The Captain, Jordan Henderson has show some wear and tear this season. He along with Lallana are sidelined with an injuries, but overall Henderson remains a leader off the pitch. Every football club needs a strong captain and Liverpool have that in Jordan Henderson.
Henderson took over captain duties when Liverpool great, Steven Gerrard, left for the LA Galaxy. Since then, Jordan Henderson has anchored the Reds midfield but this season he has struggled a bit, which lowers him on this list.
This season, Henderson has made 24 appearances, creating 31 chances and passing accurately at an 86% rate. Also, he leads the entire Premier League in passes with 2,057. Some downsides to Henderson’s game, this season, have been his lack of goals and his failure to win duels.
Regardless of his struggles, Henderson has played well at times, most importantly in the match against Sunderland. During this brisk November match, Henderson created 5 chances and passed accurately at 91%. In addition, Henderson displayed some great defensive skills, winning 80% of his duels!
This may be a down year for Henderson but his leadership on and off the field is crucial to the success of Liverpool.
