Questionable strategies from Klopp

Despite this double announcement, it seems Klopp is still nowhere near introducing any new defenders to Anfield. His strategy at the moment seems to be that as long as Liverpool have a commanding strike force, they will win games.

A highly dangerous outlook from the boss if this is the case. With an extremely leaky defence, scoring goals just won’t be enough from the Reds. The forwards will be working overtime to breakeven against tougher clubs as they concede due to errors from sloppy defenders.

With sure starters Firmino, Mané and Salah, that leaves Daniel Sturridge, Ben Woodburn and Dominic Solanke itching for game time as substitutes.

Divock Origi would also be competing despite no bench appearances and interest shown from Spurs.

The depth of midfield is something that doesn’t urgently need addressing. Jordan Henderson, Emre Can and Georginio Wijnaldum are the current midfield first team – with a list of players waiting for their turn as well.

Adam Lallana is also yet to return from injury who will be another hungry player that Klopp will need to find some minutes for.

The German gaffer seems to only have his eyes on raking in new attackers and leaving the woeful defense to cause more disappointment.

Liverpool’s current campaign

Liverpool FC definitely stand a promising chance of finishing within the top four again this year. They have an even bigger chance of challenging the big clubs in the Champions League. But signings must be made.

Dejan Lovren and Ragnar Klavan aren’t strong enough full backs to be playing for a team as huge as Liverpool. With an untouchable forward three and some threatening super subs on the bench, Klopp needs a defence that will match.

After a sizzling 4-0 win against Arsenal, Kopites celebrated a Gunners demolition and an all important clean sheet. But despite Liverpool’s insatiable performance, Arsenal were abysmal which didn’t command, but aided the win.

Not every team will play as clueless and lethargic on the ball as Arsene Wenger’s side did at Anfield. Which means not every fixture will turn out like it did against Arsenal.

With only days to go it’s crucial that Liverpool recruit someone – anyone – as a new defender to keep not only the Premier League, but the Champions League hopes alive at Liverpool.
