No. 3: Opposition Shut Outs

For all of the sharp criticism for how leaky we are under Klopp he has a very good record of shutting teams out completely. Not simply keeping a clean sheet – which contains an element of luck – but reducing an opponent to zero shots on target in a game.

Liverpool have achieved this 14 times in the last 10 season. Six of those times have come under Klopp including twice this season. We have the ability to choke teams out of a game.

The reputation we have is that our games are dangerously open. That for every chance we create we will give away one in return. This stat helps refute that. We are capable of totally dominating the opposition to the point where they have nothing to show for the game. Not even a speculative pop from distance.
