After bagging another brace for Liverpool rival fans are beginning to admit that Premier League top scorer Mohamed Salah is a great buy for the Reds.

It’s not Kane, Morata, Lukaku or Aguero. Liverpool’s Mohamed Salah now sits alone at the top of the Premier League top scorer list with 9 goals this season. After grabbing another two strikes yesterday against Southampton even Liverpool’s fiercest rivals are beginning to admit that maybe he is a good player.

When he was signed for £35 million in the summer many opposing supporters were shocked. His time at Chelsea had been very unsuccessful and that is a hefty price tag. However the Egyptian has hit the ground running and has kept going. Good luck trying to catch him.

After a couple of misses against Man City and Seville there was much discussion of his wastefulness in front of goal. That seems like a ridiculous conversation now. Even Evertonians and Mancs coming out and saying ‘what a player!’.

There is a particular thread of Chelsea fans who are now regretting letting Salah go. Currently the Premier League is being dominated by Salah, Kevin de Bruyne and Romelu Lukaku; all players Jose Mourinho deemed not good enough for Chelsea. Perhaps that’s why he got sacked!

The Egyptian’s start to life at Anfield has been spectacular with 9 in 12 games in the league and 5 in 6 in the Champions League. Throw in three assists and he is responsible for 17 goals in his 18 Liverpool appearances to date.

Yesterday was only the second time that Salah, Sadio Mane, Philippe Coutinho and Roberto Firmino had all started together. That will be the first choice front four the remainder of the season. Liverpool also have the return of Adam Lallana to look forwards to.

The Reds will continue to be a team on the fixture sheet that opposition teams will not be looking forwards to.
