Center Back: Joe Gomez

Klopp does not want to play Gomez in the middle just yet. His only opportunities for Liverpool this season in that position were against Leicester in the League Cup and 60 minutes against Spurs after Lovren was hauled off.

Interestingly he has featured for England in the position where he has shone. Against Brazil last week at Wembley he picked up the man-of-the-match award in his first start for the Three Lions. Gareth Southgate very much sees him as a central defender.

You get the feeling that Klopp probably thinks of him that way too but is limited with the injury to Nathaniel Clyne increasing the need for him to play at right back.

You may think this matchup against Chelsea is one that will be too big for Gomez to move inside but it actually might work in his favor.

He was able to shut down Neymar for England in that position. The Brazilian is the most inform player in the world so that is no small feat. Klopp could ask him to play a similar role against Eden Hazard; another quick, left-sided, play making forward.
