Left Back: Andrew Robertson

I have a sneaking suspicion that Klopp will go for James Milner at left back for this game. A combination of rotation and extra trust may push the German towards that decision. Yet I hope the Andrew Robertson gets to continue his good run in the first team.

The injury to Alberto Moreno against Spartak Moscow has opened up the door for the only other specialist left back in the squad. He had been struggling to even get into the match day squad before this door opened.

Robertson has played the last three games straight with Sunday’s game against Bournemouth being the best of this run. He played a crucial role in Liverpool’s opening goal. He played the ball well to Philippe Coutinho but it was his overlapping run that made all the difference. That opened up the space for Coutinho to cut inside and do what Coutinho does.

This game against Arsenal would be his biggest game for the Reds by far. There has been some hesitation by Klopp early in Robertson’s Liverpool career to trust him. I think his consistency and progress in December has earned him a shot in a big fixture like this one.
