New signing Virgil van Dijk already has a song and Liverpool fans are laughing at Everton after their 2-1 FA Cup win.

The Dutchman rose high after an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain corner to head home the winner and spark pandemonium in the stands.

A Roberto Firmino incident with Mason Holgate threatened to undermine the game, and there will now be an investigation into if alleged use of racist language by Firmino towards Holgate – said the Mirror.

Reds’ manager Jurgen Klopp only decided to start his £75 million man on the day of the game, wrote the Guardian, and his instant impact will delight fans and the manager in equal measure.

A WhoScored rating of 7.9 was the best handed out for a defender, although Andrew Robertson and Joe Gomez also had excellent games.

Van Dijk is now surely a shoe-in to start the tricky encounter against Manchester City and it will be a more more testing game of football than the Toffies clash.

But Liverpool fans have already made a chant about the former Southampton man and have been serenading him throughout Friday.

Whether or not they’ll bring it out for the City clash remains to be seen, mainly because it includes a large portion about laughing at Everton, who only had one shot on target all night.

After naming a strong XI that left out the usual academy prospects, Klopp would have been delighted to see everyone get through unscathed – although Firmino could now miss games if he is found guilty of using racist language.
