Liverpool fans are split over the price the club has quoted for striker Daniel Sturridge.

The Liverpool Echo reported that the club want £30 million for the injury prone forward, who wants more game-time in order to force his way into the World Cup squad.

Manager Jurgen Klopp is keen for the former Chelsea man to remain on Merseyside, wrote the newspaper, but they will allow him to leave if their valuation is met.

There can’t be many teams around that will be willing to part with that amount of cash for Sturridge, who has suffered from an alarming number of injuries in the last few years.

Roberto Firmino has replaced the England man in the first team and has taken his chance with both hands.

Southampton and West Ham are rumoured to be interested in Sturridge, reported the Echo, despite the striker not featuring since returning from a hamstring problem in December.

His match fitness will definitely need to be rebuilt. After all, he’s only made five starts this campaign and hasn’t played 90 minutes regularly for years.

That’s the main reason that Liverpool fans are so split about that asking price. Check the tweets below to see what they think!

The club need to be careful with the amount of forwards they let leave during January. If Danny Ings is let go they could be left with just Dominic Solanke for cover.

Any more departures will have to be offset by bringing in another player – but how happy will they be with just a squad role?
