Liverpool fans are losing their minds over Adam Lallana’s red card in an U23 game against Tottenham Hotspur.

The playmaker was featuring for the second string side has he continues a return from injury when the incident happened.

Not normally known for his displays of aggression, the conduct displayed by Lallana was really eye-opening and displayed the mind of a frustrated footballer.

Watch the video below and make your own mind up about what happened, but the reality is that sort of grappling is very rarely seen in the game.

Lallana has started just one game all season and made a paltry five substitute appearances, his last of which came against Swansea City on the 22nd of January.

The former Southampton man hasn’t started a game since the Burnley victory on New Year’s Day and didn’t even make the squad for the Spurs draw.

There is also some discussion about how long Lallana will be banned for. Jack Wilshere was sent off for Arsenal U23s, but his suspension didn’t carry over to the Premier League.

But the Daily Mail confirmed that the playmaker will not miss any senior action and will be available for the match against his old team Southampton at the weekend.

It’s a game that the Reds need to win as the race for the top four is getting really tight. Chelsea losing to Watford leaves Liverpool in third, but they’re still only a point ahead of the Blues.
