Liverpool saw out a 0-0 draw with FC Porto to progress to the Quarter Finals of the Champions League. Here are our Liverpool player ratings v Porto.

Liverpool are in to the Quarter Finals of the Champions League after a professional 0-0 draw with FC Porto. The Reds never looked like conceding a goal – let alone the six Porto needed. They now take their place as one of the best eight teams in Europe this season.

Despite suggesting yesterday that rotation would be minimal, manager Jurgen Klopp made five changes to the side that beat Newcastle on Saturday. It was almost a totally new back four with Joe Gomez, Joel Matip and Alberto Moreno came in for Trent Alexander-Arnold, Virgil van Dijk and Andy Robertson.

In midfield vice-captain James Milner returned to the side for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain. Mohamed Salah got a much earned rest with Adam Lallana making only his third start of the season on the right of the front three.

Liverpool’s best chances fell to Mane who hit the post, Firmino who had a shot blocked and Danny Ings that forced a great save from Casillas.

7. Another clean sheet for the German in a game where Liverpool were very comfortable at the back. He did everything asked of him in a straight forward manner. More valuable experience for Liverpool’s new number one.. Goalkeeper. Liverpool. LORIS KARIUS
