Liverpool fans take to social media and are praying that none of their players pick up injuries this week on international duty.

It had been barely minutes after the final of Liverpool’s sensational 5-0 victory over Watford on Saturday before Reds took to Twitter praying for the next two weeks. It is the dreaded international break and Liverpool are desperate for all the Reds to return fit and healthy from their national sides.

It has been a testament to the good work of the Liverpool medical staff and Jurgen Klopp’s rotations that the squad is in fine health at the moment. There are no players with anything more than a knock. Even though Emre Can left the Watford game in the first half, there was confirmation today that the injury is not serious and he should be fit for Liverpool’s next game.

It would be a disaster to have the injury record ruined by mismanagement on international duty. Reds have been hurt many times before during the international breaks; most recently Sadio Mane missing six weeks earlier on this season after injuring his hamstring while playing for Senegal.

There will be a lot of praying, finger crossing and throwing salt over the shoulder in the next ten days. While fans are hoping for a clean bill of health for every Liverpool player there is one in particular who is drawing the most attention; Mohamed Salah.

The ‘Egyptian King’ has been in sensational form; his four goal haul against Watford taking his tally to 36 goals in 41 games for Liverpool this season. He also 10 assists to go with those goals. He is facing Portugal and Greece in friendlies ahead of the World Cup.

Next: Fans can't wait for this transfer to be announced!

Hopefully the Egyptian national coach will want to protect him for the summer tournament and give him plenty of time on the bench!
