Liverpool fans can’t believe the transformation in reborn star Loris Karius after his performance against Everton on Saturday.

Karius has deposed Simon Mignolet has the Reds’ first choice goalkeeper, and has impressed in recent weeks.

The German made some excellent saves to deny the Toffies during the early kick-off this weekend and that has led Liverpool supporters to be delighted at their new no. 1.

One in particular stood out – an arm retching, full stretch dive to deny Yannick Bolasie a thunderbolt of a goal.

Manager Jurgen Klopp will be disappointed at the result, no matter how much he tries to sugarcoat it in the press, but at least key players got through the game unscathed.

After deciding not to play Andrew Robertson, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino, Klopp sent out a weakened team that included Danny Ings and Dominic Solanke.

But after rotating his stoppers during the early parts of the season, one man stood his ground. Karius. After rumours of Alisson, Jack Butland etc coming into the squad during the summer, you’d have to serious wonder now if the incumbent has done enough to keep his place.

That money could then be reinvested in other areas of the squad, although another goalkeeper will probably have to be brought in as Mignolet is unlikely to want to hang around as a back-up.
