Roberto Firmino is a world-class complete forward and this latest statistic proves that beyond doubt.

Firmino leads from the front and is a key part in manager Jurgen Klopp’s high energy, high press gameplan.

The Brazilian has scored 25 goals in all competitions and provides a first line of defense as he leads the team from the front.

As well as banging them in on a regular basis, Firmino also creates them. With 14 assists throughout the season, the 25-year-old is a tremendous asset to have.

And because of that work rate and overall ability, he’s the only player in the whole league to make more than 60 tackles and create more than 50 chances. With 62 tackles completed, he’s also the second leading tackle maker for clubs in the top six – only trailing Chelsea defender César Azpilicueta.

Never mind Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane, it’s also vital that Liverpool hold onto the former Hoffenheim man.

As those stats prove, Klopp could not have a more perfect man leading his line and it’s doubtful there is another on the market. Firmino really is a cog in the side that money couldn’t replace. If that wasn’t clear before, it certainly should be now.

The Brazilian is also a work-in-progress but has improved year on year. It took Firmino 153 matches to reach 49 goals for Hoffenheim. He sits at 48 in 137 with the Reds and won’t slow down for anyone.

While the 18-capped star hit the back of the net just 11 times in the League during 2016/2017, he’s already at 15 with four more games to come.

Liverpool have a fairly winnable run in to the end of the season, with only Chelsea who should pose any serious trouble. They play West Brom, Stoke City, the Blues and then round things off with a home game against Brighton.
