Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has delivered positive injury news about Joe Gomez and Dejan Lovren before the West Brom game.

Gomez had been out since the last international break, while Lovren was taken off the field against Bournemouth.

But both are available for the game against the Baggies, which kicks off at 12:30pm on Saturday afternoon – reported the club’s official website.

The Midlands side look like they will be relegated to the Championship, but they have recently beaten Manchester United and shouldn’t be discounted.

This injury news will bring joy the Reds fans, who had been facing the prospect of a severely depleted back four.

However, trio Nathaniel Clyne, Adam Lallana and Emre Can remain on the treatment table. All three are big blows, but Clyne’s is particularly disappointing as his injury came when he was working his way back to his usual levels of first team involvement.

With only four league games left, players will be desperate to take to the field as Liverpool hunt a second placed finish.

Competition for places is also key to keeping everyone sharp and fit – especially with a Champions League semi-final against Roma coming up.

The question surrounding Lallana and Can’s involvement during the rest of the campaign was answered with ambiguity by Klopp, who confessed that he didn’t know if the pair would make the pitch again.

“There is no real news about Adam and Emre,” Liverpoolfc.com reported that the manager said. “They are in a good way [but] we will see what that means at the end. Everything is possible that they will be part of the squad again this season, or not.”

With Lovren back in contention, you’d expect him to partner Virgil van Dijk. Trent Alexander-Arnold has been in superb form, so maybe it’s too early for Gomez to come back into the side – while Andrew Robertson’s outstanding season continues and you’d want him to retain his place.
