Liverpool are heading to The Hawthorns this Saturday to take on West Bromwich Albion. Here is the Liverpool back four we want to keep out West Brom.

There is an important Premier League game this Saturday but it’s hard to concentrate on that. Liverpool are heading to West Brom at the weekend needing three points to take a huge step nearer Champions League qualification next week.

The Reds sit in third place in the table and are 10 points ahead of Chelsea in fifth. The Blues play tomorrow night away at Burnley. If the Clarets get a result then Liverpool can secure a top four place on Saturday.

Tottenham Hotspur have had two bad results in a row; losing to Man City (not us, lol) and drawing with Brighton & Hove Albion last night. That gives Liverpool the opportunity to put an eight point gap between the teams as the Reds play twice before Spurs’ next Premier League game.

It would be nice to put distance between Liverpool and the three big London clubs this season. Not only would we avoid a Champions League qualifying tie in August but we put everyone on notice that we are the nearest challengers to Man City.

The temptation for players and fans is to switch off from this game on Saturday. Roll out some reserves and wrap up everyone for Roma at Anfield on Tuesday.

However this is not the week to do that. Let’s get our domestic business done this week. Then hit Roma at Anfield and rest players against Stoke if we need to. If we keep a clean sheet on Saturday the chances are we are winning the game. The Baggies HAVE to win if they have any hope of Premier League survival.
