Liverpool forward Sadio Mane wants the Champions League final next week to be like Istanbul. Liverpool fans are saying their hearts can’t handle it!
Sadio Mane is a happy-go-lucky kinda guy. But he is advocating for a deep stress and heart attack inducing Champions League final next weekend. Liverpool are facing Real Madrid in the European football showpiece and Mane wants to relieve a rollercoaster part of the Reds’ history.
Talking to the media from the Liverpool training camp in Marbella, Spain he was asked about the last time Liverpool won the Champions League in 2005. Mane was only 13-years-old and remembers the drama and excitement of the Liverpool penalty shootout win over AC Milan in Istanbul.
He said: “Did I watch it? Of course, yes,” he said. “Everyone remembers this final because of the game. They were 3-0 down and back to 3-3. We’re going to try to do the same and win the game.”
While every Red in the world would love a victory there are many Liverpool fans who would rather it went a little smoother:
Mental health and heart conditions of Kopites everywhere will be but through it if the Reds are 3-0 down at half time. How about we are the ones with the three goal lead this time around?
The players seem to be really enjoying the preparations for the Champions League final. James Milner is busy roasting his teammates on Instagram. Then a bunch of players are posing and getting slated by the fans; taking it all in good humor.
