No.2: Jurgen Norbert Klopp

Being a goalkeeper is a unique role in football. The possibility of imminent disaster lingers at every step, kick and throw. Make an error and you give away a goal. That is pressure of the highest order.

Jurgen Klopp is a man who knows how to provide security for his players to help them overcome adversity. It says a lot about Klopp that many believe Loris Karius can recover his Liverpool career. That has more to do with the character of the manager than it does with character of the player.

Alisson would be the most talented goalkeeper Liverpool have had since Pepe Reina arrived way back in 2005. When given raw talent, Klopp has a habit of shaping it into world-class performances.

Take three examples from this season: Andrew Robertson was a young but middling Premier League left back who was relegated with Hull City. Klopp took his pace, engine and left foot and made him the best left back in England.

Trent Alexander-Arnold was a winger/midfielder from the Liverpool youth team who was needed to cover at right back as Nathaniel Clyne was injured. Now he is the hottest young full back in the world.

Mohamed Salah came in as a pacy winger with questions over his finishing. A mere 44 goals later and he is considered the third or fourth best player in the world. And remember Salah played with Alisson last season. The Brazilian will surely have taken notes on his former teammates ascension.
