Everyone wants Klopp to spend those Philippe Coutinho millions on a new goalkeeper, but a defender has to be at the top of his wishlist as well.

And this report has confirmed that the German is interested in bringing Newcastle United captain Jamaal Lascelles on Anfield, who would cost around £30 million. However, the Standard has written that Tottenham Hotspur are also in for the English star.

Virgil van Dijk has certainly lifted the game of those around him, but the Dutchman can’t do it all by himself and needs a partner with more quality than Dejan Lovren, Joel Matip and Ragnar Klavan.

Lascelles will also be of interest to Klopp because of his personality. He’s a natural leader, plays with passion and always gives 100% to the cause – all extremely attractive abilities. Keep an eye on this deal, because of it could have legs and Newcastle are a selling side.
