James Milner is officially the fittest man after Liverpool had their first day of pre-season training and he should be your new favorite player.

According to Twitter user Matthew Ordish, Milner was the only man to run laps at 24MKH during the squad’s lactate threshold test.

New midfielder Naby Keita almost managed to keep up with the former Manchester City man – who went head to head with Adam Lallana before Lallana also dropped out.

It proves Milner’s dedication to the game as well as his thorough professionalism to remain so fit for the whole calendar year. But, it’s also encouraging to see Lallana being able to perform at the high standard and hopefully it means he’s shrugged off an incredibly disappointing season.

A full look through the entire thread shows a man who is an incredible athlete. Playing in the Premier League required ridiculous levels of endurance, and to be top of the charts at 32-years-old shows that Milner could have a few more years left in him yet.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp clearly trusts the former England international to perform at a high level when called upon. Milner made 32 Premier League appearances last season as well as 11 in the Champions League, which yielded an incredible eight assists.
