Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge is pumping his own tires up hard in search of a revived career at Anfield.

It appears as if manager Jurgen Klopp has given Sturridge another chance to prove his worth at the Reds, and the former England international has grasped it with two hands.

The 28-year-old has impressed and has hit the back of the net on a regular basis, with his latest effort coming in the 2-0 win over Blackburn Rovers. Sturridge came on as a second half substitute and assisted Lazar Markovic before scoring himself.

And now the injury prone striker has taken to Twitter to pump up his own tires in a big way in an attempt to revive his Reds career.

Klopp may be looking to his squad to step up after recent activity in the transfer market has left the bank a little bit empty. The Liverpool Echo has reported that the German is now keen to offload deadwood and thin down the squad size, so there are a few who will be playing for their future over the next couple of weeks.

Normally Sturridge would be in this bracket, but it appears more likely that Danny Ings and Divock Origi will leave the club. Football.London has said that Celtic and Bournemouth are keen on Ings, while reports have linked Newcastle United and Southampton with a move for Origi.

If both of those transfers are completed, it would leave Klopp with just one senior striker available to play second fiddle to Roberto Firmino. Sturridge can clearly sniff an opportunity to prove his form and fitness here, and his post on social media proves that he’s working hard on and off the field to put the bite on his gaffer.

Of course it’s great to see someone have such desire to play for Liverpool. After such a great start to his Reds career, there wouldn’t be a fan around who wouldn’t want Sturridge to hit those heights again.
