Liverpool fans have trolled Everton over their latest transfer news involving Watford man Richarlison.

The BBC has reported that the Toffies are close to securing a deal for the Brazilian that could be worth up to a staggering £50 million.

After arriving on English shores last summer, the U20 World Cup star lit up the Premier League during his first dozen games. Former Hornets boss, and current Everton manager, Marco Silva got Richarlison playing at his best and the attacker scored five goals in that period. But then it all dried up.

Silva clearly likes what he saw and worked with though, and is on the verge of breaking the Toffies’ transfer record on the youngster. It currently stands at the £45 million it cost to bring Gylfi Sigurdsson from Swansea City.

But Liverpool fans can’t get over the massive price tag for a player who hasn’t hit the back of the net since November, and especially considering that Mohamed Salah was bought for £35 million.

Any initial price for Richarlison would be around that figure, but performance related add-ons would add another £15 million onto the price – said the BBC. Scroll down to see how Reds fans have trolled Everton over this bit of business!

The Toffies are going to spend big this year in an attempt to compete with Liverpool. That didn’t do them any good last season when most of their big money signings flopped, and it would be difficult to see them buying players with enough quality to compete.

However, the Independent has reported that Barcelona duo Yerry Mina and Lucas Digne are of interest to Silva. Mina scored three goals for Colombia during the World Cup, and the center back will probably be allowed to leave the La Liga giants.

Despite that, Liverpool will still be massive favorites to finish ahead of Everton this season. The money they’ve spent to secure a select few players to strengthen key positions shows a clear, coherent strategy and it should reap massive rewards this campaign.
