We can win the league. I believe that 100%. But this is not about belief this about prediction. Cold minded, rational deduction. The hard thing to accept is that Man City don’t even need to repeat last season’s level to win the league again. Liverpool were 25 points behind them. That is a chasm.

I think the Reds can reach 88-90 points if they get off to a good start but I can’t see City getting less than that. I think the summer transfer business at Anfield has been incredible. While I’d love to have a reliable back up for Firmino, Sturridge’s renaissance is very welcome.

Can we trust Lovren/Gomez/Matip for a whole season? I think we almost can. But almost doesn’t win titles. It will likely take a month or two for Fabinho, Keita & Alisson to adjust to the Premier League and Klopp’s way of playing.

Elsewhere I think both Spurs and Man Utd drop off a little. Their summer spending has been underwhelming (or non-existent). Both are at risk of falling out of the Champions League placings. I can see Arsenal being much improved with a new manager and a full season of Aubameyang.

Chelsea will get close too. I find it hard to separate the other four teams, they are all mediocre.
