No. 2 – Firmino off the mark

Four games into the season and Roberto Firmino finally has his first goal. It must be said that in the first half, the forward really struggled to get into the game. Losing the ball countless times, it seemed as if, yet again, it would not be Bobby’s day.

That was until stoppage time at the end of the first half. James Milner whipped in a corner that Firmino rose well to smartly nodded in. That put Liverpool 2-0 ahead and gave them a huge boost before half time and lead they would not give up.

Not a vintage performance from Liverpool’s samba sta. But at least he is off the mark and add that to last week’s assist against Brighton that should be a confidence boost going into the international break.

Liverpool have a tough set of fixtures after the international games and will need Firmino at his best; attacking with verve and defending like a maniac.
