Eden Hazard

Oooohh, you can pretty much hear a collective intake of breath after finding out one of these players is Eden Hazard. Brave call, you’ll think. Well, now it’s my job to show why Salah should be rated higher than Hazard.

Firstly, the Belgian is a great player. He’s in the top 10 for a reason. Hazard lights up the Premier League and when he plays well, Chelsea play well. In fact, when he doesn’t it costs managers their job.

But to be at a 91 when Salah is an 88 isn’t really acceptable.  If Hazard is a 94 dribbler and a 86 passer, his Liverpool rival deserves to be as well.

With 12 goals and four assists last season, his impact on the scoresheet was profoundly less than Salah’s. This isn’t the be-all-and-end-all, but it does show a lot. On the basis of last season, these two stars should be rated the same.
