Xherdan Shaqiri Liverpool

10: Xherdan Shaqiri

For ages people said they didn’t want this deal to happen. Xherdan Shaqiri wouldn’t work hard enough, they said. He wouldn’t like playing a rotation role, they cried. We’ve got enough attackers, they insisted.

Well, looks like Shaqiri is having the last laugh now.

Because Liverpool look like a better side when The Powercub is in it. He’s dynamic, strong and can score goals from all over the park. Shaqiri is starting to look like the player who signed for Inter Milan and Bayern Munich – not the one who got relegated with Stoke City.

In a season that saw Riyad Mahrez go to Manchester City for £70 million, Shaqiri’s £13 million fee looks like chump change.

The Swiss international already has three goals and two assists in the Premier League and you get a feeling he’s just getting started. What a buy.
