Season two

Okaaayyy, things weren’t really supposed to develop like this. I thought Werner would follow the Matthijs de Ligt path and become slowly more important to Liverpool as his Merseyside career progressed, but that hasn’t really happened.

For a start, the striker has played worse than he did during his debut season AND the Reds have done worse domestically! The only glittering light was a 2-0 Europa League final win against Monaco, but Werner didn’t even make the bench for the game.

But, that does mean Liverpool will be playing in the Champions League next season. So despite finishing fifth, Klopp has been handed a seat at the top table once again. He’s only done and pulled a Mourinho!

I mean, seven goals in 28 appearances isn’t really setting the world on fire but somehow Manchester City still want to buy the lad. Praying they don’t and I get to see this experiment through to the end.

There was also further winnings to be had in the FA Cup as Tottenham were beaten 3-2, thanks to goal from Firmino, Luan and our man Werner.

Weirdly the club decided to splash £38 million on Adrien Silva from Leicester before making move for Luan and future gun goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli.

Right, here we go again.
