Football Manager stories: Can Timo Werner lead Liverpool to glory?
Season four
Well I can safely say I haven’t seen a player this badly managed since Alan Pardew destroyed Hatem Ben Arfa at Newcastle United.
When Werner plays, he scores goals. It’s that simple. Tuchel has taken a 30 goal forward and turned him into the laughing stock of the league, and I honestly can’t believe it’s going on right under my nose AND I CAN’T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT.
Liverpool finished fourth but once again bloody Chris Wood had another stormer for Burnley and hit 20 goals. CHRIS WOOD. That should be Werner pulling up those numbers you complete con artist!
Naby Keita had a great season and topped the Premier League for assists with 13 as Joel Matip was sold to Barcelona for a huge £42 million, which means Joe Gomez got more of a run in the side and was rewarded with the captain’s armband.
Aside from that fourth place finish, Tuchel couldn’t drive the team to any further success. If only they had a natural goal scoring predator waiting in the wings…
