So we survived the threat from Barcelona and Rabiot went on to lead the charge as Liverpool finished in second place in the league again, this time behind Manchester City.

What’s weird is that he played better, but actually bit less in terms of assists – but that doesn’t really matter as the Frenchman was a leading part of the domestic and continental campaign.

New boys Moussa Dembele and Lozano both got into both figures for goals, while Ben Woodburn completed his debut senior season with 11 appearances, two goals and one assist.

However, it was another season of no trophies for Klopp as Liverpool only made the fifth round in the FA Cup, the third round of the League Cup and only made the 16 last of the Champions League.

But in terms of Rabiot’s contribution and growth as a player, he’s doing well. Barca are having a sniff again and you could really see him leave in the summer.
