Trent Alexander-Arnold, Joe Gomez, Virgil van Dijk, Andy Robertson

I think it’s fair to say this is what Liverpool’s defence will look like for a while now when all four players are fit. Joe Gomez has made the most out of his first-team opportunities following the injuries to Joel Matip and Dejan Lovren.

There’s little doubt that he has now become Klopp’s first-choice centre-back now and should be partnering van Dijk.

Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold will be starting in their usual full-back positions. The former hasn’t  been at his very best lately and will be hoping to put on an impressive display against Southampton.

Ings will be looking to put one past his former employers but van Dijk will have the best of it – while Gomez’s pace and strength is good enough to get him out of any situation.
