6. . Liverpool. . Andrew Robertson

Raided forward and provided a target for Alexander-Arnold’s switch hits, and tried to drive the ball across the face of goal. The Scot also stopped a near certain goal with an incredible, acrobatic, toed clearance and was the last man back a few times. A good performance, not a great one.

Liverpool. . Virgil Van Dijk. 5.

A real shocker, van Dijk made a mistake that lead to a goal. His poor clearance resulted in the fatal corner, which nobody dealt with a Saul prodded home. Looked unsure and unsteady at times, probably one of his worst performances for the club.

. Joe Gomez. 6. . Liverpool

Did well with the ball at his feet and often found himself in the wide channel as Alexander-Arnold bombed forward. Salah butchered an assist when he put his pressureless header wide of the post. Picked up a yellow card for his challenge on Morata after 58 minutes during a rare venture forward by Atletico and defended well.

6. . Liverpool. . Trent Alexander-Arnold

Was brilliant with his distribution, as usual, and hit a number of passes to switch the play to Robertson on the left. Trent whipped through some excellent crosses, too, but nobody was on the end to convert. But sometimes his consistency let him
