Liverpool have been linked with a spectacular bid to re-sign Manchester City star Raheem Sterling. Here are three reasons why they should.

The Express have reported that news from France has claimed the ex-Liverpool man will move back to Anfield as a replacement for Sadio Mane, who is wanted by Real Madrid.

Aside from the fact that Jurgen Klopp is highly unlikely to sanction the departure of Mane, who is absolutely key to the way Liverpool play their football, it’s worth a look at why bringing Raheem Sterling back to the club would be a good idea.

The England international left Anfield under the cloud in 2015 for a £57.33 million fee and looked to have the world at his feet under Pep Guardiola last season. However, things haven’t really gone his way this campaign and Sterling hasn’t scored in the last seven league games.

According to the original report, the attacker is thinking about his options due to the impending Champions League ban – which might last as long as two years.

This could be a factor in Raheem Sterling quitting Manchester for Merseyside.
