Liverpool will spark a Jadon Sancho chain reaction.

Miguel Delany wrote in the Independent that Liverpool are still in with a chance of securing a deal for Jadon Sancho, who is wanted by Real Madrid and Manchester United.

Jurgen Klopp will have a better chance of securing the deal for the England international if United fail to qualify for the Champions League, which is a distinct possibility.

But they will still have to break the bank to bring Sancho to Anfield.

That’s because the former Manchester City youngster will require a contract that’ll dwarf whatever the club’s highest earners on. He’ll spark a chain reaction.

Delaney wrote that several players will need an improvement in their terms to bring them level with anything Sancho gets.

"He said: “The extent of his wage demands would also necessitate improvements for Virgil van Dijk, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.”More from Rush The KopSet to return, Virgil Van Dijk facing heavy criticism back homeLiverpool making late comebacks all the rage once againWolves tilt gives Klopp opportunity to tinker with lineup following international dutyPlayers to watch in the matchup with WolvesPredicting Liverpool’s Next Five Premier League Fixtures"

Klopp has got the squad well balanced and there seem to be a good relationship between all the players. Changing rooms are full of testosterone and ego, and there’s no knowing how it might react to another elite players who is dropped in there – especially without new deals for the existing top tier players.

Now we see the problem with bringing in these elite level players and it gives some insight into why a move for Timo Werner stalled and then floundered.

Alongside the £80 million transfer, they’ll be an agent’s fee as well as bumper deals for four more players. When you put that into a post-COVID-19 context, where club finances are not going to be as healthy as they once were, it creates an uncomfortable situation.

Liverpool might have won the Champions League and are about to claim their first league title in more than 30 years, that doesn’t mean they are flush with cash or are able to live outside of their means.
