Liverpool vs Crystal Palace predicted team: Mohamed Salah must start
Andy Robertson, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold
Andy Robertson is good to go for Wednesday, which is brilliant news.
"James Carroll, writing on the official club website, reported that Klopp said: “He (Robbo) trained yesterday completely normal, so it’s the same (as Salah, who is available.)”"
That will be a big bonus, for two reasons. First, the gaping hole in the squad is at left-back and James Milner being forced to play that role exposed that at Everton.
Robertson is our only recognised left-back and he gives something unique down that flank. Milner or Joe Gomez can do a decent job, but they are never going to hit the same levels of the Scot.
Secondly, it’ll allow Gomez to partner Virgil van Dijk in the middle of the back four. Joel Matip is also injured, so having Robertson back means that Gomez will be able to move centrally – rather than stay as a full-back.
Dejan Lovren will not be required to start the game, which had given some fans nightmares. After his extremely rusty 15 minutes against Everton, the thought of seeing Wilfried Zaha run at the Croatian gives a lot of people the night sweats.
Trent Alexander-Arnold will start at right-back, of course. Neco Williams could come in, but not when Liverpool are pushing for those last few points in finally win the Premier League.
