Mohamed Salah completes this side

If there was any doubt as to the importance of Mohamed Salah, there isn’t now. The Egyptian was phenomenal against Palace.

His finish, his pass for Mane, the way he created space and occupied Crystal Palace was a lesson in what it takes to play as a forward for Klopp.

There are some people who think Salah should be sold to make way for another marquee signing, but this shows that they’re delusional.  The King moved up to 17 goals for the season, just two behind Leicester City’s Jamie Vardy. With the Foxes in a dry spell and Salah hotter than the surface of the sun, that gap should be overhauled quickly.

Just one cog missing from the machine of Mane, Firmino and Salah is enough to bring the full house of cards down and that’s alarming from one point of view – but it does illuminate how well the trio work together.

Things are looking good for the game against Manchester City, a match in which the first league title for 30 years could be confirmed. Liverpool have got some excellent history against Pep Guardiola in the past, and they’ll use that to drive themselves forward.

It’s exciting times to be a Red.
