Rhian Brewster has been linked with a loan move to Sheffield United.

The young striker has been in good form for Liverpool during the preseason campaign, sparking debate that he should be a major part of the squad this coming campaign.

He has scored three goals in the matches against Stuttgart and Red Bull Salzburg – including a sumptuous volley to level against the latter, and finished off a delightful team move against the German side.

Leon Wobschall in the Yorkshire Post wrote that Blades boss Chris Wilder and his transfer recruitment committee are interested in bringing Rhian Brewster to Sheffield after he impressed during preseason, as well with his 11 goals at Swansea in the Championship last campaign.

This comes just days after Brewster was linked with half of the Premier League, with the likes of Burnley, Brighton, Aston Villa and even Tottenham interested – but the Blades seem like the most sensible option if he does leave Liverpool on loan this summer.

Wilder’s men play an exciting brand of counter attacking football which the London-born forward would fit excellently into – and would be an upgrade in quality on the likes of Lys Mousset and Oli McBurnie.

Nine of his eleven goals at Swansea last season came from a first-time effort, suiting their all-action style with his poacher’s instinct.

If the deal came with game-time incentives for Sheffield United would be even better, meaning they have added reason to play Brewster on a regular basis.

Brewster is set to feature in tomorrow’s Community Shield against Arsenal before deciding his future – it remains to be seen whether he’ll start or whether his performance in the match will have an impact on his choice of destination, or whether Jurgen Klopp will decide to keep him ahead of 2020/21.

It also swings on the future of Divock Origi, but the supposedly interested clubs have yet to make a formal offer for the cult-hero Belgian.
