Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher has predicted a move for Jadon Sancho will happen.

The ex-defender has warned Manchester Utd to act now and pay whatever it takes to sign Jadon Sancho or risk losing out to Liverpool.

Jurgen Klopp never has and never will be drawn into panic buying or pressuring the owners into making signings just for the sake of it. The gaffer has always played the patient approach to get the players he wants and such is his pulling power that players are often happy to wait to join him.

Klopp has always been open about his admiration of Borusssia Dortmund star Jadon Sancho and it seems the love goes both ways.

The forward apparently told friends that joining Liverpool would be his preferred move away from Germany despite constant rumours linking him with Manchester Utd this summer.

Liverpool are currently holding back on their spending due to the uncertainty of future income predictions thanks to the COVID-19 epidemic. However, crowds are due back into stadiums at the end of the year and Carragher feels the board could be lining up a big move for Sancho, especially if Manchester Utd fails in their bid for the star this summer.

"“United have got a clear run at Sancho now – but that will change if he’s still at Dortmund next year,” said the former Liverpool defender in the Sunday Mirror.“I’d be very surprised if Liverpool didn’t try to sign him next summer.”"

Liverpool’s famous front three all turn 29 over the next 12 months and the club will surely be looking to freshen things up. There are lots of rumours floating around about the likes of Patson Daka and Ismaila Sarr possibly coming in, but maybe Klopp has told the board he’s happy to wait 12 months for the club to move on Sancho.

Given the current stance on transfers, this may seem like a long shot. But, despite what the current Twitter trends may say, there is no denying that FSG and Klopp are willing to spend big when the time calls for it and if the Sancho deal is a possibility then it has to be worked on.
