Naby Keita vs Jorginho

Many whom read my work on ‘Rush The Kop’ know of my fondness and, well, admittedly agenda for Naby Keita. The man is a genius at work and I simply adore him.

His marauding runs into the Leeds box were a threat on the opening day for the first half an hour, but ‘Guiniesta’ himself did fade in the second half and wasn’t as impactful as usual.

His area of expertise is energy, dribbling and ball retention – meaning his polar opposite comes in the form of Italian‘mezzo indietro’ Jorginho.

A man not reliant on his physical endeavours, but his tactical and technical prowess. A rarity in the modern game in truth.

If Jorginho can take control from his deep lying playmaker role and dictate the pace of the game, it could prove dangerous for the Reds – but as our midfield and front three are pressing machines, and Roberto Firmino will also drop into that space, I can’t see anything but a ‘Naby lad’ win in this key battle.
