Thiago impresses on debut

The Spaniard, who joined just a few days back, made his Liverpool debut after coming on as a substitute for Jordan Henderson – who sustained a knock during the first half. The Spaniard had a pretty good first 45, giving us fans a number of reasons to be excited by his arrival.

Thiago dictated the game from the middle of the park, always looking comfortable in possession. He completed 75 passes in the second half, which according to Opta, is the highest by any Premier League player who featured for a maximum of 45 minutes since 2003/04.

The former Bayern Munich  midfielder’s only negative moment was his foul on Timo Werner which led to Chelsea winning a penalty. However, Jorginho’s ensuing spot-kick was saved by Alisson.

Thiago’s addition strengthens our midfield a great deal and we can only hope that he produces similar performances in the forthcoming matches.
