Liverpool face an injury boost just days before they play Everton.

There’s been plenty of fitness news floating around as he lead up to the Merseyside Derby, but this could be a major development.

Jurgen Klopp will be happy to see Thiago and Sadio Mane back in training, alongside injury-prone central defender Joel Matip.

Jordan Henderson got some minutes under his belt while on England duty, and that will give the manager another option for the Everton clash.

Andy Robertson managed to get himself suspended for Scotland’s third game of the break and has had some unexpected time putting his feet up. A rested Robbo is an excellent Robbo.

This latest injury news comes out of the Everton camp, via Times journalist Paul Joyce.

According to the writer, the Toffies are at risk of being without their important central defender Yerry Mina.

Allan, Seamus Coleman and Andre Gomes have all been named as fit for the game on Saturday but Mina will be assessed closer to the day.

The Colombian defender has been a key part of Carlo Ancelotti’s set up as Everton have raced to the top of the table. He’s formed a good partnership with Michael Keane, but that could be at threat.

Liverpool will look to target that area and Ancelotti might be forced to hand Ben Godfrey his debut earlier than expected. Mason Holgate is yet to be named in an Everton squad but he could come into the side.

Either way, the Toffies might be forced to turn to someone without much preparation and ask them to keep Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane quiet. It’s a big ask.

Liverpool won’t be paying too much attention to the ins and outs over at Goodison Park. Klopp will want the team to reset their mentality and become the monsters that he knows and loves.
