What will Liverpool miss the most as they leave Melwood?

When Liverpool is about sign a new player or there is speculation of a new player joining, us fans wait for the official ‘Melwood Lean’ picture. That picture is part of the media day rituals at Melwood and is considered to be an integral part of the official signing.

Klopps had very evident mixed emotions about switching training grounds. During an interview he told Liverpoolfc.com:

"“So, it’s strange; I didn’t think properly about it so far, but my PA is obviously already moving all my stuff out of my office so I realised step-by-step that the place already looks different. I will miss it, but that’s how it should be. Melwood was really good, it was important – an important place in my life, so I will miss it. But Kirkby will be great.”"

Training for one of the biggest games of the season against Manchester City will be the last game that the teams prepares for a game at Melwood. It’s a fitting way to sign off.

We are certain Klopp will use this as motivation and get the team ready to have one last hurrah at Melwood before they bid farewell.

The players are expected to begin training at the all new Axa Training Ground at Kirkby after the international break. The state-of-the-art training ground at Kirkby set back the Liverpool owners a whopping £50 million.

Klopp had mentioned that there was a lack of space at Melwood. Hence this new training ground has been created with inputs from club captain Jordan Henderson and vice-captain James Milner. Their experience ensured that the thought behind the training facility was created with a player-first approach.

It is a state of the art training ground that has three full-sized football pitches for training games and training schedules. The gaffer will have an office with a large balcony.

The 9,200 square meter Training Centre has two gyms for the players, a large swimming pool, hydrotherapy areas and sports rehabilitation facilities. It is expected to be a haven for players. Given the saying, you are only as good as you train, we can expect the Liverpool players to find another gear after they move to Kirkby.

The manager’s office, will have a large balcony that overlooks the training pitches. This will allow him to keep an eye on the Reds whenever he wants.
