Steven Gerrard – 47 penalties scored
No Liverpool player has scored more times from the spot than Steven Gerrard. He was always known to have nerves of steel in a dead ball situation. His technique and ability made close to impossible to save.
The midfielder netted his first penalty against Birmingham City back in 2003. His last penalty goal was against Tottenham Hotspur more than a decade later. In an interview, Gerrard explained his frame of mind going into a short run-up during a penalty kick.
"He said: “You pick your spot, don’t change your mind on the run-up. Make sure you get good contact with the ball and try to be as accurate as possible.”"
