Wolves want Liverpool star to ease their injury crisis
Wolves want to sign a Liverpool legend.
The Express journalist Ben Husband wrote that the Midlands side want to raid the better half of Merseyside in order to stock their squad for the second half of the season.
Everyone is suffering from injuries right now and Wolves have joined the pity party. Raul Jimenez suffered from a horrible fractured skull, which has left manager Nuno Espirito Santo reliant on youngster Fabio Silva.
The blow has effected the moral around Wolves, confirmed their manager, and now the Express think he’ll be after one of Liverpool players to give them a lift.
"Santo said: “It’s always a big disruption when you lose a player, especially Raul and how the situation happened, which was traumatic for everyone.“We have to overcome it. Raul is going to be OK, he is going to be back to the same player and person he was.”"
Santo is after living legend Divock Origi, the slayer of Barcelona and the rescuer of three points (at least until last season).
Times have been difficult for the Belgian international, and this season has turned up the heat on his place in the squad. Even with this terrible schedule, Jurgen Klopp decided not to use Origi as a substitute against Tottenham Hotspur and gave Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane 90 minutes.
Origi nearly moved to Wolves in 2018 but decided not to. It now seems like their paths might cross again, or at the very least, the 25-year-old will need to make another decision in January.
There has been loads of speculation over his future at Liverpool over the past few months. Origi is barely featuring, when he does he appears to be rusty and barely able to influence the game in a positive way, and is clearly not in Klopp’s good books.
Could Liverpool afford to lose him? At the moment, Origi is good to have in order to cover some areas in the squad, but he’s getting barely any game time and Takumi Minamino could easily cover any gaps across the front three.
However, injury to a former Wolves man, Diogo Jota, could mean that Klopp feels he can’t allow Origi to leave just now.
