The five Liverpool results that defined 2020

Liverpool 5-3 Chelsea
The day Liverpool beat Chelsea 5-3 it was supposed to be a loud, packed and noisy Anfield atmosphere. Given the social distancing requirements and Covid-19 pandemic, the stadium was empty.
However, that did not disrupt the occasion. We hammered five goals past a hapless Chelsea. But it was distinctly visible that the players had one eye on the post-match ceremony rather than the game itself. We can’t and won’t ever blame them.
At the end of the game, Jordan Henderson lifted the Premier League title after a long, long wait of three decades. The celebrations were wonderful. It was a party that was long overdue.
This was the night that turned a bunch of hardworking football players into legends. They etched their names in the history books and cemented their relationships even further. It might have been the very reason that Liverpool did not sell any star players in the summer.
