Doubters to Believers – Champions at last

In all the glory, we need to remember that much of the legwork for the momentous title victory had been completed in 2019 with key victories in the Premier League against Leicester City, Manchester City and Everton.

On the night of 25th June 2020, when the Reds mathematically secured their first Premier League success, they were upgraded from the ‘triple crown’ to the ‘Grand Slam’ because at that point, Liverpool were holders of the Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, FIFA Club World Cup and the Premier League simultaneously.

This was the culmination of half a decade of effort and meticulous planning under Jurgen Klopp with pain and heartache along the way bottled to produce this magnificent reaction.

After thirty years of pain and tears, different managers, great efforts, near misses, many hopes and rehearsals of “this will be our season”, it eventually happened. The Liverbird was flying high and back on its perch.
