Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has provided fans with more bad news.

Speaking ahead of the Premier League clash against Burnley, the gaffer delivered some additional injury information.

We all thought that Diogo Jota might be nearing full fitness, but now Klopp has crushed those hopes. According to HITC, the German fears Jota will be out for another three weeks – at least.

"“Diogo is a few weeks away. Will not be next one or two. He needs time. How much I miss him is not important. I am not allowed to miss him. He is not there and we deal with it.”"

Liverpool has struggled for form since the turn of the year, and a lot of that can be put down to a lack of competition from the rest of the squad.

Divock Origi is nowhere to be seen and could be out of the club soon, while Takumi Minamino has been out of the frame since that goal against Crystal Palace.

Xherdan Shaqiri has played as a central midfielder, not a forward, so there’s almost no pressure on Sadio Mane, Roberto Firmino or Mohamed Salah for their place in the side.

Liverpool may turn to the transfer market to replace Salah, but for now, Klopp needs to get the best out of this front three; Jota missing does not help things.

Ordinarily, Burnley isn’t a side who pose much of a treat to the Reds. But we’ve now drawn against Fulham, West Brom and Newcastle United – teams who are hardly the cream of the crop of the Premier League.

The Clarets have won none of their last six games against Liverpool but they have scored in five of those fixtures. History suggests that the Reds will need to find their shooting boots to take points off Sean Dyche’s side, even if they’ve only hit the back of the net nine times in 17 games.

Chris Wood is their top scorer with three, and he’ll provide a handful for whoever Klopp decides to pick at the back.

With Ben Mee and James Tarkowski reunited in defense, Liverpool will need as much firepower as they can get. Sadly, Jota won’t be a part of that.
