Inter Milan want to sign Liverpool forward Divock Origi on loan.

Italian publication Corriere Dello Sport have reported that the Italian side wants to bring the Belgian in on loan to act as cover for Romelu Lukaku.

Origi has played just 12 minutes of Premier League football this season and appears to be on his final legs at Anfield.

Lukaku has enjoyed a productive time for Inter, with 17 goals in 23 appearances this season across all competitions. After signing from Manchester United last summer, the Belgian has struck 51 times in 74 games, and accrued nine assists.

Origi wouldn’t be moving to Serie A to play a big role in that Inter side, and maybe he’s at the stage in his career where the former Lille starlet needs to be the main man.

This loan would probably prove fruitless in that respect – unless Lukaku moves on. According to Joe, Manchester City have approached Inter for their star forward as they look to replace Sergio Aguero.

According to the report, Liverpool would be ready to let Origi leave. That won’t come as a shock to anyone who’s been watching the club this season, as Klopp appears increasingly reluctant to field the Champions League winner.

From his heroics against Tottenham Hotspur to seeing his stock plummet in 2020, the Belgian has experienced all the highs and lows that come with being a squad option in Liverpool.

Klopp may not want him to leave, however, as it will leave the side short up front. With Diogo Jota still injured, even if his return may be imminent, Origi’s departure would leave just Takumi Minamino as Roberto Firmino’s replacement.

Minamino hasn’t played a single minute of Premier League action since scoring against Crystal Palace in the 7-0 win, and doesn’t appear to be trusted by the manager in the same way that Origi isn’t.
