Moving forward, Liverpool winger Sadio Mané can only improve.

In yesterday’s loss versus Leicester City, Sadio Mané’s struggles were evident. But, unfortunately, that is only a microcosm of what his past two months of contests have been for the talented Liverpool winger.

Mané has been a critical part of the team’s success in recent years, and every player goes through cycles of highs and lows. However, this drought is out of character for Sadio, and perhaps his departure in next month’s AFCON tournament can renew his confidence before returning to the Reds. Either way, the only way his form can go from here is up, and Liverpool will undoubtedly need it down the stretch, along with another player.

Liverpool’s star Mohamed Salah cannot be contained forever.

Another Red that isn’t per se struggling but has been held in check lately is Mohamed Salah. In the past two matches, Liverpool’s star had no assists or goals in each contest. Before that, he has had one or the other in each category this season except for the team’s August 21st (second EPL match) against Burnley. Again, his play as of late has not been subpar, but his regular contributions have not been felt. Yesterday Leiester’s GK Schmeichel denied the Egyptian king on the below penalty kick.

Sooner rather than later, he will contribute, and the world knows that he can catch fire at any moment. So perhaps his soon-to-be-coming streak can spread to the team’s defense as well.
