Liverpool FC has yet to make a splash in this month’s open transfer window; however, it is not stopping suitors from inquiring about essential Reds. In most recent news, Barcelona has been snooping about as they are looking for new talent as they always are. For them, they are targeting Liverpool forward Roberto Firmino.

While this season has been a down one for the Brazillian, there are a few reasons why the club cannot afford to lose him.
Firmino is still a valuable contributor at Liverpool.
Despite missing action this season, Roberto Firmino is one of the most unselfish players on the planet. This is evidenced in the team’s most recent 3-0 Premier League victory over Brentford.

He could have quickly taken on the goalkeeper for himself, but instead, he gave teammate Takumi Minamino a birthday goal. He loves being a Red, and his teammates reciprocate that brotherly love for him as well. While his numbers may be down this season, the team literally cannot afford him to leave.
Frugal ownership and depleted depth could spurn an unwelcome downturn for Liverpool.
Looking ahead is just as important as the present moment for LFC. Why you may ask? When you look at the greater picture of the state of the Reds, it is in a relatively good place. However, the wolves are at the door when you consider what Manchester City and other numerous power clubs are doing. While spending millions isn’t a guarantee of success, not spending on your talent is equally dangerous. The reasons for Liverpool’s spending absence is under speculation, but simply put, there are players on this team that other teams will be willing to overpay for if the Reds are not careful.
