According to recent reports, Liverpool wants to add to their superstar signing of Luis Diaz by signing French football’s latest upcoming talent.

The player in question is AS Monaco’s young star Aurelien Tchouameni.

However, signing him will not be easy for Liverpool FC. The 22-year-old is on the radar of many big clubs in Europe, including Liverpool’s local rivals Manchester United and Chelsea. He is also linked with foreign clubs like Barcelona, Real Madrid, and Juventus.

Liverpool does need a few new faces in the midfield. Naby Keita, other than his injury troubles, is also being linked with a move to West Ham, while Jordan Henderson and James Milner will not get any younger.

Tchouameni will not only provide like to like cover for Fabinho but, due to his young age, can also be a long-term replacement for the Brazilian.

The recently turned 22-year-old has been described as ‘extraordinary’ by Paul Pogba. The youngster is a brilliant passer of the ball, especially under pressure. His 11.33 passes under pressure per 90 are one of the highest in Europe. In comparison, N’golo Kante makes only 9.84 of these passes per 90, while Ruben Neves makes 10.61.

The best part of Tchouameni’s game is his defense. He wins around 2.78 tackles per 90, which is more than N’golo Kante (2.12), Ruben Neves (1.86), Thomas Partey (1.70), and Liverpool’s Thiago (2.62). He also applies 7.33 pressures per 90 with a success rate of 38.1%. (stats taken fron Fbref)

It is understood that Klopp is prioritizing the midfield after acquiring the signing of Luis Diaz and Aurelien Tchouameni is not the only midfielder linked with a move to Anfield.

Liverpool is also linked with Jude Bellingham (who reports earlier suggested already had an agreement with the Reds),  Youri Tielemans, Kalvin Phillips, and Yves Bissouma.

Valued at around 36 million pounds, the youngster will not come for cheap. However, he fits Liverpool’s style of play and matches FSG’s criteria for signing for players.

Do you think he will be a good signing for Liverpool?
