Liverpool lead the race for superstar, but they can’t get complacent
Liverpool are in the transfer market again. Well, not for January. Jurgen Klopp has made it perfectly clear for everyone involved that they do not intend to sign anyone other than Cody Gakpo in the winter transfer window. It sucks, I won’t lie, but all’s not lost yet.
Liverpool are in the market to sign a couple of midfielders in the summer. One, obviously, is Matheus Nunes, the player they were going to sign from Wolves in the summer but ended up not going for him. The other is the superstar that I am talking about. His name rhymes with Dude Wellingham.
Jude Bellingham is an otherworldly talent. He’s perhaps the most talented midfielder in the world, the one with the highest potential. The most hyped, the most wanted midfielder in the world. There are so many top clubs that are currently in the running for the English Superstar, currently plying his trade at Borrussia Dortmund.
According to the ever-reliable Fabrizio Romano via Born Red LFC, Liverpool currently lead the race for Bellingham. That’s something I wasn’t expecting.
Liverpool lead the race for Bellingham, but the other teams in contention will still push hard for his signing
It makes the most sense for Liverpool because Bellingham would take the team to a completely different level. But the teams that they are in the running with, Real Madrid and Manchester City, they are also really pushing for Bellingham’s signing, which is exactly why Liverpool can’t slack off.
If the Reds are truly serious about signing a superstar of Jude’s magnitude, they need to make sure that they keep leading the race till it’s over. They have to make sure that they do absolutely everything they can in their power to sign Bellingham. Because if they don’t do that, some other team definitely will.

Real Madrid are looking to sign him as well, they’ve made the Englishman their primary target for the summer, so it’s not going to be easy. Liverpool need to keep pushing. That’s all they can do. That’s all they should do.
